It is a wonderfully snowy day in lower Michigan. A good day to stay home and get this blog set up. Now that I have my new computer I have some memory, a new printer, and a WOW flat screen monitor. I can even load pictures again.
Being the Holiday season I have been very busy working at my part time job that has become more full time. I am also setting up production at my local Goodwill Industries for my new business of selling fabric selvage to weavers. This has been a very fun project. The participants who have been working on this project are great and are enjoying the new job in the Goodwill factory. I like this new business for many reasons. One, it gives jobs and helps train persons for work. Two, it recycles items that either could not be sold in the stores or didn't sell in the stores. Three, part of weaving is prep time for material and by selling selvage material cut into strips it lets the weaver spend more time weaving and less time cutting.
Today is the day I will move and organize my work area. I am also going to try to get out to Goodwill to pick up more selvage. I have about 300 pounds ready to ship but need a little more to get started. I will be selling selvage on a very limited basis for the first 3 to 6 months to get the kinks worked out.
